Marathon des Sables (MDS)
Ouarzazate, Morocco
2016 SOLD OUT!
Registration for the 2017 MDS, which is scheduled from April 7-17, 2017, is open!
The Marathon des Sables is billed as the toughest footrace on earth. The race is a grueling multi-stage adventure through a formidable landscape in one of the world’s most inhospitable climates—the Sahara desert. The rules require you to be self-sufficient, to carry on your back everything, except water, that you need to survive. Under the scorching sun, lifelong friendships are fostered through days spent running across saltpans, up desert-mountains, through ruined towns and through the occasional sand storm.
